For over sixty years, the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra has been committed to enriching the culture and encouraging the musical advancement of youth. Part of our mission is to encourage the next generation of classical musicians and create a spirit of excitement and enthusiasm for classical music among our youth.
- Our Young Artist Concerto Competition, held annually for over twenty years, encourages outstanding young artists in New Jersey to compete for the privilege of performing a concerto with the orchestra.
- Local music teachers can recommend their gifted students who are invited to play alongside our professional musicians to gain orchestral experience.
- The MSO features Young People's Concerts and instrument "petting zoos" each year at a local school.
- School-age children and students with a school ID are admitted to our concerts free of charge. We want them to experience and enjoy the thrill of live orchestral performances!
